Welcome to Mountain High Retreat, an off-grid, solar-powered facility. Your stay at this property is conditional upon strict compliance with the following rules, guidelines, and legal agreements. By entering the premises, you expressly accept full responsibility for your actions, personal safety, and the safety of any dependents accompanying you. This document constitutes a binding legal agreement.

1. General Guidelines

  1. Respect Nature – Guests shall leave no trace, remove all waste, and minimize environmental impact.
  2. Emergency Communication – Mobile signal may be weak or unavailable. Guests must familiarize themselves with emergency radios and pre-designated contact numbers.
  3. First Aid – Guests should know the location of the first aid kit within the cabin.

Disclaimer: Management does not provide first aid or evacuation services. Guests must arrange personal emergency and evacuation plans in advance.

2. Mountain High Retreat – Host Liability

By staying at Mountain High Retreat, guests fully acknowledge and agree to the following binding terms:

  1. Assumption of Risk
    1. All activities, including but not limited to hiking, fishing, swimming, horseback riding, cycling, wildlife observation, and exploration, involve inherent risks, including uneven terrain, wildlife encounters, adverse weather, and natural hazards.
    1. Guests voluntarily assume full responsibility for all risks, including injury, illness, property damage, or death, whether foreseeable or unforeseeable.
  2. Personal Responsibility
    1. Guests are solely responsible for their own safety and the safety of any minors or dependents in their care.
    1. Mountain High Retreat provides no supervision, training, or personal protective equipment. Guests must ensure they are physically and mentally prepared for all activities.
    1. Guests must exercise caution, follow all rules, and properly use any equipment provided.
  3. Medical Emergencies
    1. Guests must provide for their own medical needs, including medications, first aid supplies, and evacuation insurance.
    1. Mountain High Retreat does not provide medical services, emergency rescue, or transportation. Guests must contact local emergency services directly in case of medical incidents.
  4. Damage, Theft, and Loss
    1. Guests are financially responsible for any damage to Retreat property caused by their actions, negligence, or misuse.
    1. Mountain High Retreat assumes no responsibility for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings anywhere on the property.
  5. Wildlife and Natural Hazards
    1. Guests acknowledge the presence of wildlife, insects, and natural hazards on the property.
    1. Guests shall not approach, feed, or interact with wildlife and must take all reasonable precautions to prevent encounters. The Retreat is not liable for injuries or losses resulting from wildlife or natural conditions.
  6. Comprehensive Liability Waiver
    1. Guests waive any and all claims against Mountain High Retreat, its owners, staff, contractors, or affiliates for injuries, accidents, losses, or damages arising from their stay or participation in activities.
    1. Guests agree not to initiate legal action and expressly release the Retreat from liability, including negligence, accidents, or acts of other guests.
  7. Farm Animal Safety
    1. Guests acknowledge that farm animals are present and may be dangerous if provoked or mishandled.
    1. Entry into enclosures, feeding, or interaction with animals without staff permission is prohibited. The Retreat is not liable for any injuries caused by such interactions.
  8. Compliance with Rules
    1. Guests must comply with all Retreat rules and staff instructions. Failure to comply may result in immediate removal without refund.
  9. Legal Jurisdiction
    1. This agreement shall be governed exclusively by the laws of the Republic of Armenia. All disputes shall be resolved within its jurisdiction.

3. Mountain Terrain and Walking Safety

  1. Wear Appropriate Footwear – Hiking boots with good traction are required.
  2. Stay on Marked Trails – Protect yourself and preserve fragile ecosystems.
  3. Monitor Weather – Be prepared for rapid changes with proper clothing and gear.
  4. Avoid Slippery Surfaces – Exercise caution on wet or steep terrain.

4. Hiking Safety

  1. Plan Ahead – Share your route and expected return time with someone responsible.
  2. Stay Hydrated – Carry sufficient water and snacks.
  3. Carry Essentials – Map, compass, flashlight, whistle, and first aid kit are required.
  4. Hike in Groups – Solo hiking is not recommended.
  5. Lost Procedures – Stay in place, use your whistle or radio to signal for assistance.

5. Wildlife Safety

  1. Maintain Distance – Observe wildlife from a safe distance. Never feed or attempt to touch animals.
  2. Remain Vigilant – Be alert, especially at dawn and dusk. Monitor surroundings carefully.
  3. Secure Food and Scented Items – Store in wildlife-proof containers. Do not leave outside.
  4. Prevent Attraction – Cook only in designated areas and clean immediately.
  5. Bear and Predator Safety – Carry bear spray or noise devices. Alert animals by making noise while on trails. Do not run if confronted; back away slowly while facing the animal.
  6. Child Safety – Keep children under close supervision at all times.
  7. Personal Responsibility – Guests are solely responsible for their safety in wildlife areas. Failure to comply increases risk of injury or death. The Retreat is not liable for incidents resulting from negligence or unsafe behavior.

6. Cows and Sheep Safety

  1. Do Not Disturb – Avoid loud noises or sudden movements around livestock.
  2. Keep Distance from Mothers with Young – Extra caution around calves or lambs.
  3. Close Gates – Always secure gates to protect livestock.
  4. No Contact – Do not pet or feed animals.

7. Mountain Cabin Rules

  1. Solar Energy Conservation
    1. Use lights and appliances sparingly.
    1. Unplug unused devices.
    1. Avoid simultaneous use of multiple energy-heavy devices.
    1. Smoking is prohibited on all Retreat premises.
  2. Water Conservation
    1. Limit shower duration.
    1. Turn off taps tightly.
    1. Use biodegradable soaps only.
  3. Stove Safety
    1. Never leave stoves unattended while lit.
  4. Quiet Hours
    1. Maintain peace from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
  5. Fire Safety
    1. Light fires only in designated areas.
    1. Fully extinguish fires before leaving.
  6. Waste Management
    1. Separate recyclables and compostables.
    1. Remove non-recyclable waste from the property.

8. Other Important Notes

  1. Solar Power Tips – Prioritize essential usage on cloudy days.
  2. Water Source Care – Always purify collected water before use.
  3. Health Awareness – Monitor for altitude sickness; rest and hydrate as needed.
  4. Respect Fellow Guests – Use communal spaces responsibly.
